Who Will Host Your Podcast?

Excerpt from: Podcasting at Work: 25 Questions to Ask Before Starting

Your podcast’s host will be the one making a connection with the audience - so they’re important! Remember, even if your podcast has 10,000 listeners, they’re all listening by themselves - so they’re connecting personally with your show, the content, and the host one-on-one.

A great host knows their subject and their audience while being likeable and easy to listen to. Most of our clients choose someone from their organization, since that kind of insider knowledge is hard to come by - but it’s worth considering external hosts too.

Good external hosts bring interviewing, journalism, public speaking, or presenting skills to the table, but you may also want to consider their connections and network. Choose a high-profile champion of your organization and they may be able to help book great guests from their network and help promote the show on their social media channels.
