How Can A Podcast Producer Help?

After years of working with various organizations on their podcasts, we’ve learned that having a producer present during the recording session makes a big difference compared to those who record on their own and send us the files to edit.

When our podcast pros sit in on either remote recording sessions or those in the studio, they’re doing a number of things:

  • Sound check: ensuring everyone sounds their best and flagging any concerns before the recording session begins.

  • Connecting remote guests: We make sure everyone is able to connect and provide tech support to anyone having trouble connecting.

  • Recording - twice!: Computers aren’t perfect, so we always record a backup, ensuring your important content never gets lost for reasons of technical or human error.

  • Marking edits: Once the recording session is underway, our producers mark edits as they happen. This ensures that nothing is missed and speeds up turnaround time.

  • Jumping in when needed: Throughout your session, we’re always listening for audio quality, distractions, and content issues. If a follow-up question was left un-asked, we may suggest it; if someone starts absentmindedly clicking a pen near their mic, we’ll address it. We’re focussed on delivering the best final product possible, and we’ll do what’s needed to achieve that for you.

  • Putting everyone at ease: Most of our clients aren’t professional broadcasters, so one of our biggest jobs is putting all the participants at ease during recording. When you record with a producer, we can coach you through the awkward moments while taking the technical side off your mind.
